Fished Get5Bass Summer Series on Saturday

Tournament: What a beautiful morning!!! Felt great to be back on Dardanelle! I was seeking a little
redemption from the lackluster performance on Saturday, and I decided to change up my starting
location. I opted to start in the bayou for this one. Got to the first grass bed and started slinging the old
Jewel Swim-it around. To my surprise, things started off a little slow. I decided to sling a buzzbait around
for a while. On the first cast, I have a fish attack my lure "Killer Whale" style and he misses it!!! It was a
good one too.... Had to shake off missing the first fish of the morning! Oh well, I went back to the
swimming jig and it wasn't long before a good fish inhales it. I boat flipped the 4-pounder and I was on
the board. From there things got slow, which was not anticipated this early in the morning. I packed up
and headed upriver. When I got there the bite was on and I was able to boat 5 more keepers on the
Swim-It. I had 5 early, I just needed to find a few "big uns". Before leaving this location, I decided to take
some advice from Terrance and try the area around the bridges. It panned out, and I was able to make
2 good culls. Besides for the occasional keeper that wouldn't help my bag, the rest of the morning was
pretty uneventful. About 2:00 PM I decided to head back to Dardanelle Bay. When I got there, I decided
to crank some square bills around. I had just caught a decent keeper and was getting keyed in on
where to throw when I get a strike. I could tell it was a good fish, but it acted like it didn't know it was
hooked. It was coming towards me, and When I got it to the side of the boat it seen the boat and
realized it was hooked. The fish turned and made a beeline straight for the bank, snapping my line. It
looked at least 4-pounds - Not the way I wanted to end this tourney...................

See ya' on the flip side....
